It is moved that: The Northwest Council approve the proposed 2016-2017 Northwest Council budget and submit the proposed budget to the SPEEA Executive Board for consideration and incorporation into the SPEEA budget. |

NW15-017 Motion for the ACT committee to recess until the ratification of the 2016 Negotiations Technical and Professional bargaining unit contracts. |
It is moved that: the SPEEA Northwest Council accepts the ACT committee going into recess until ratification of the 2016 Negotiations Technical and Professional bargaining unit contracts. At that time, the committee will then reform, resume activities and prepare an input for the FY 2017 NW Council budget preparation activity. |

The NW Council requests the Executive Board provide Staff with direction to take steps in informing our members about this issue via our publications and information networks and urge our members to support the venues when possible, so they can use their buying power to support more labor friendly choices.

It is moved: that the NW SPEEA Council supports the unions (IBEW, IATSE, SAG-AFTRA) at King 5 Seattle and KGW-TV in Portland in their efforts to maintain Union contract protections and benefits. The NW Council requests the Executive Board provide Staff with direction to inform our members about this issue via our publications and information networks and urge our members to support the union workers. In case of a strike, SPEEA will pledge $3000.00 total to the two stations unions, to aid workers on strike. |

It is moved: that the NW SPEEA Council supports UNITE HERE Local 8 in the efforts to keep Union Representation for Boeing Cafeteria Workers. The NW Council requests the Executive Board provide Staff with direction to take steps in informing our members about this issue via our publications and information networks and urge our members to support the union workers by signing the pledge and asking them to wear the support buttons. |

It is moved that: the NW SPEEA Council supports UFCW Local 21 and others in the struggle for union representation and a first contract at Providence Everett Hospital. The NW Council requests the Executive Board provide Staff with direction to take steps in informing our members about this issue via our publications and information networks and urge our members to support the union workers during negotiations and if they go out on strike.
It is further moved that the Northwest Council supports giving up to $3000.00 out of the annually budgeted labor support fund, should a strike happen and support is needed by UFCW Local 21.
The NW Council requests the SPEEA Executive Board to contact UFCW Local 21 leadership if a strike occurs, and help is needed, to work with the UFCW on how to send the support. |
